Ghazanfar Latif, Ph.D., is an award-winning innovator and an experienced academic professional with over 12 years of experience in higher education, encompassing teaching, research, innovation, curriculum development, and academic administration. Since 2017, he has published over 100 peer-reviewed research articles, and has been granted 13 U.S. patents in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Assistive Technologies, Medical Imaging, Computer Vision, Large Language Models (LLMs), Internet of Things (IoT), Robotics, and Deep Learning. He became an IEEE Senior Member in 2025 and currently serves as Chair of the IEEE Young Professionals Affinity Group and Vice Chair of the IEEE Systems Council (TOK Section). He is also the President of the Canadian Association for AI and Future Students. Dr. Latif serves as Editor of the Inspire Intelligence Journal, Co-Editor of five special issues across leading journals, and an Editorial Board Member of Discover Artificial Intelligence (Springer Nature). He has chaired AHTBE 2025 and co-organized three IEEE international conferences (2020, 2022, and 2024).
Dr. Latif is currently an Assistant Professor at Thompson Rivers University, Canada. Previously, he served as Acting Director of the Center for Artificial Intelligence at Prince Mohammad bin Fahd University (PMU), Saudi Arabia, and worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Quebec, Canada. He also held the position of Research Coordinator at the Deanship of Research and Graduate Studies at PMU. He completed his Ph.D. with a Gold Medal, and earned both his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees through fully funded scholarships.
